Chef Chris Faison is the lead culinary instructor for students who are in the practicum stage of their training in NECAT’s (New England Culinary Arts Training) kitchen. He’s been with NECAT since 2021. He also piloted and teaches NECAT’s program behind the walls at Suffolk County House of Correction (SCHC). Chef Chris is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with extensive experience as a chef and instructor. Students benefit from his knowledge and creativity, as well as his flawless kitchen orchestration, charismatic cooking demonstrations and elegant desserts.
Vegan Waffles with Fried Mushrooms and Watermelon-Jalapeño Mocktails
Juneteenth is time for celebrating the end of slavery in the United States, and what better way than toasting with a watermelon mocktail spiced up with jalapeño and vegan waffles topped with fragrant, crispy fried mushrooms instead of the traditional chicken. Earthy rosemary flavors a maple syrup to drizzle over the top to add a sweet note.
