Patricia Wells is a journalist, author, and semi-retired teacher who runs a popular cooking school — At Home with Patricia Wells — in Paris and Provence. She has written fourteen cookbooks. Three of her works have won James Beard Awards for Best European Cookbooks, and two were nominated for the honor. A former New York Times reporter, Wells has written for Food & Wine, Travel and Leisure, Town and Country, and Saveur. Wells is the only foreigner and the only woman to serve as restaurant critic for a major French publication, L’Express (1988-1991). She was restaurant critic for the International Herald Tribune from 1980 to 2007. Along with her husband, Walter Wells, she divides her time between Paris and Provence. For more information visit
